Located in the mountain 45 km north from Meknes, Moulay Idriss is the most sacred tow in country. It was closed for tourists until 2013 due it’s sacred status among muslims. However, now the town is opened for tourism and can be visited by everyone interested in faith and islamic religion. The town was constructed over a hill by Ibn Arabi about 700 years ago.
Moulay Idriss should be visited by everyone visiting the golden triangle since it is very close to Fez and Meknes. There are shared taxis and public departing every hour from Meknes medina and train station.
Do not forget to enkoy the view from the mountain outside the town. The views are amazing!
